All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Do you know the main way God communicates with you? Through the Bible. The Bible is the word of God because He inspired the people who wrote it. God speaks to you through the Bible, explaining the truth and revealing His will for your life.

When you read the Bible, you learn how to live for Jesus. The words of the Bible prepare and equip you to do good works and live in holiness, as well as helping you distinguish between good and evil, truth and falsehood. That’s why it’s so important to read and know the Bible, applying what you learn. It’s a great privilege to read the Bible—don’t waste it!

Make Bible reading a priority:

Set aside time each day to read the Bible and pray.
Ask God for wisdom to understand what you read.
If you have trouble understanding what you read, use Bible studies and other resources.
Ask a pastor or a more mature Christian about passages you don’t understand.
Put into practice what you learn.

Prayer:
Lord God, thank You for giving us the Bible. Please help me understand what I read in the Bible and see how it applies to my life. I want to live to please You, and I know the Bible can help me do that. Give me wisdom and courage to follow Your word. In Jesus’ name, amen.
