Indeed, who knows the thoughts of a person except their own spirit within them? In the same way, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
(1 Corinthians 2:11-12)
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you would only succeed if you could read the minds of others? Like when others have expectations of you that you can’t meet because you didn’t know about them and they never told you. This can be one of the most frustrating experiences.
Now think about what God expects from you. Are you able to know what is on the Lord’s mind? In fact, yes. Because the Holy Spirit, who knows all the thoughts of God, dwells in us and reveals the things of God to us.
It is thanks to the Holy Spirit that you can understand what the Bible says and apply it to your life. As Paul said, we do not have the spirit of the world, so we should not walk as the world does. Instead, we have the Spirit of God, and we should walk as God desires us to.
