How do I steward God’s gifts?

Your concept of God can help you move forward in life. Do you believe God wants to do miracles for everyone or that He picks favorites? Do you believe that you are one of His favorites or least favorites? Life seems unfair at times. I’ve even heard people say that God is unfair. Do you believe God is unfair?

The answer to these questions will determine your happiness and destiny. The Bible says, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:17, NIV) It also promises, “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9, NIV)

It’s time you take a close look at your God concept: what you think about God and how you feel about Him. These beliefs and feelings become a type of filter in your brain. Inevitably, you do not live with the facts of your life but the interpretation of those facts. If your view of God is distorted, you will often feel rejected by God. You will probably think you’ve gotten the short end of the stick.

Nothing could be further from the truth. God is love, and He loves you completely and unequivocally. He gives you all good things. It’s up to us to manage those resources well. The Bible calls this miracle-making tool “stewardship.” Life is not fair, but God is the great equalizer. He will give you gifts, faith, and talents to steward well.

I’m including a link to a free chapter from my book 30 Day Journey to Spiritual Health. I hope this starts to help you change any distorted views of God you might have.

Would you like to pray with me? “Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for all the amazing gifts, relationships, and favor that You have given me. Help me to steward them well so that they will be multiplied. I know that You love me so much. Please help me dive deep into Your love and maximize all that You are giving me. Amen.”

You are not forgotten. You are one of God’s favorites because you are His miracle.
