When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said to him, "The Lord is with you, brave warrior!
(Judges 6:12)

The Israelites lived under the yoke of the Midianites and that oppression brought fear. Fear is a paralyzing feeling: if we do not face it, we do not advance. When Gideon received the call of the Lord he still had a feeling of low esteem, a consequence of all the time they had lived in submission.

Gideon asked God for a sign and God did so. After understanding that it was a call from the Lord of Hosts himself, Gideon was seized with a feeling of courage and began to truly act as a servant of the Most High God.

Through Gideon's call we can understand that even "the least of his house" can be a mighty warrior in the hands of God. It is he who enables his servants. It is enough to believe in his Word and heed his call.

God is with you

• If God has called you, he will enable you.
• Don't let fear keep you from obeying God's call.
• In order for God to enable you you need to take the first step.Believe!

To pray:
Lord God, I want to move forward in your promises. I know I am not capable in my own strength, so enable me according to your Word. In Jesus' name, amen.
