In their distress they cried out to the Lord,
and he saved them from their distress.
(Psalm 107:13)

In life, there are countless times when we go through afflictions and times of difficulty. You may have personally experienced or heard testimonies of people who cried out to God in their difficulties and were saved from their distress. Shipwreck survivors rescued, aircraft in turbulence spared from fatal crashes. Car collisions resulting in accidents, yet lives preserved. People saved from robberies, persecutions, and kidnappings...

Indeed, we could continue to recall situations in which the Lord guarded and helped his people.

Be it in the past, present, or future, our God is the God of salvation. Psalm 107 speaks of the loyalty, mercy, and love of the Lord who delivers the afflicted when they seek his help. The Lord performs wonders on behalf of men. Cry out for his mercy and protection. He is good and faithful!

Cry out to the Lord in your affliction
Do not waste time: seek the Lord at all times. In hours of distress, sadness, and tribulation, make him your buoy of salvation. He is the Almighty God, he can help you.
Pray with faith. Daily ask for his help and protection. God is generous in mercy and grace. He helps and sustains the lives of his children.
In darkness and in moments of despair, believe in the presence of God who is with you. He does not abandon you! He chose you, he loves you, and he helps you.

To pray:
My God and Father, protect me on this day. Help me in moments of affliction and danger, Lord. When my eyes cannot see a way out, may my heart trust in the power of your love. Thank you because you are always with me, in happy times and in sad ones. Stay with me and with all your children, today and always. Amen.
