Face your dilemma with obedience

When the wine ran out, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine."
—Woman, what does this have to do with me? —Jesus replied. —My hour has not yet come.
His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
(John 2:3-5)

The hosts of that ceremony faced a problem: the party had begun, the guests were present, the bride and groom along with their families were celebrating, but the wine had run out. In those times, having wine at parties was like having cake or dessert at our birthdays: something essential. Wine symbolized joy, and not having it at a party could seem like a lack of consideration towards the guests.

Mary reacted to the dilemma of the lack of wine by going to Jesus. He responded with the authority of one who knows he is not subject to his mother's instructions. He would act at the right time and according to the will of his heavenly Father. But Mary gave good advice to the servants: "Do whatever he tells you!" They obeyed Jesus and witnessed a great miracle: water turned into excellent wine.

Unleash life's "noes" by obeying Jesus
Identify your problem. It's the first step you must take to solve it.
Pray to God. Whenever you are facing a problem, present it to Jesus.
Trust and wait on him. Submit to God's will and timing. He wants to help you.
Search the Lord's Word (read it, meditate on it, and apply it to your life).
Obey! Do what the Lord tells you, and you will see how he works in your favor.

To pray:
Lord my God, thank you for always helping me in my daily dilemmas. Help me to entrust all my problems into your hands, trusting that you do your will in my life, in your precious time. You are a God of miracles. Teach me to obey you in everything you command and teach me through your Word. I ask this in Jesus' name, amen.
