Yes! The Bible says that we, His people, are the dwelling place of the Most High God. What an amazing privilege! Reflect on this:
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
- 1 Corinthians 3:16
God does not dwell in temples built by human hands. Although we are imperfect, He has chosen to live within us. This means that all His children, redeemed by Jesus Christ, are no longer just visited by God; they are inhabited by Him. This means you are never alone. God is with you, living inside of you!
Of course, we are a work in progress. We need Christ to shine His light on us, to make the necessary changes, to cleanse every hidden area and corner. In short, we need Him to make our lives a pleasing home where He can dwell.
Become a Beautiful Sanctuary, Dedicated to God
- Let God feel at home in your life. Seek His holiness daily.
- God is not a stranger in your house. Don’t push Him away from your life.
- Pray and allow God to remove all hidden trash and organize all the disorder within you.
- Give God authority over your house; give Him the throne of your heart.
- Only the work of God’s Spirit will bring the real change and transformation you need.
Prayer:
Lord my God, thank You for choosing to dwell among Your people. Help me be a good home for You. I know You see my imperfections, and You are working on each one of them. Remove all the rubble from the past—cleanse me! Help me dedicate myself more to You. Shine Your light within me and feel at home in every part of my life. You are my Lord. Govern and guide my entire being, in the name of Christ. Amen!
