God created us and has loved us from the very start. He loved us even before we were aware of who we are. God’s love has no physical or temporal limits—He has loved us forever!
When we realize that God loves us and we recognize His ultimate expression of love through Jesus, our perspective on life changes. We're overwhelmed with gratitude, wondering what we ever did to deserve such love. And the truth is, if we try to find a reason based on ourselves, we won’t find one. God chose to love us simply because He is God!
We receive His love freely, and we should respond to it the same way—freely and unconditionally. Love God without conditions. Respond to His love by loving Him in return. That “two-way path” is what we call a relationship. To love and to be loved—that is the kind of relationship God desires to have with us.
To respond to God's love:
Love God (1 Chronicles 16:34 and Deuteronomy 6:5).
Love your neighbor (Matthew 22:36-40 and 1 John 4:19-21).
Obey His Word (John 14:15 and John 14:21).
Share His love (Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15).
Try to love God in all these ways—remain in His love! He loves you and wants to walk with you every step of the way.
A prayer:
Lord, it feels so good to receive Your love! Your grace reached me, and all I can do is thank You for this amazing love. Thank You so much, Father! Amen.
