Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person,
do not associate with one easily angered,
or you may learn their ways
and get yourself ensnared.
(Proverbs 22:24-25)
There’s nothing more dangerous than surrounding yourself with people who drain your faith and hope. Pessimism can deeply affect the way we live. For pessimists, nothing ever seems right—everything is always going wrong. But be careful: don’t fall into that trap!
It’s true that not every day is full of sunshine—there is a time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1–14). But with God, we can face even the hard days with a new perspective.
Seek out people who build you up and draw their inspiration from God. When we surround ourselves with those who are focused on Him, we’re able to overcome difficulties with a better attitude.
Don’t let negativity wrap around you. Feed your heart with words of hope. God always has the right direction for your life.
Strengthen your hope!
A prayer:
Lord God, even on the hard days, You are my hope. Keep me away from harmful influences. Help me walk with people who long to grow closer to You. Amen.
