Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
(Psalm 20:7)We live in a time when the world defines people by what they have rather than by who they are. It may seem like something unique to our generation, but even in ancient times, things were much the same.
Owning possessions and having financial power has always been something many people pursue. Sadly, many who achieve financial stability end up placing their trust in their possessions, which makes them vulnerable. Everything in life passes away—except the Word of God.
There are things money cannot buy: our intimacy with God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and our salvation in Christ Jesus. These three are essential for every human being, whether rich or poor. And we have access to all of them freely—by the grace of God!
When we place our faith in things, we are putting it in the world’s faulty system. But when we place our faith in God, the impossible becomes possible. Material things no longer have control over us, and we live with greater freedom because we know where our faith rests.
Trust God, not things
Only God gives us security in the midst of an unstable world. Read the Bible and seek to know more about God’s power.
Trusting in God is an act of faith, just as people put their faith in their job or their social status. Place your faith in the God who cannot be moved.Yes, we will face trials in life, but with God, your faith is anchored to the Rock—Jesus. Pray, fight in prayer, and the storm will pass. If you have lost something, God is able to provide for all who trust in Him.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I want to thank You for everything You have placed in my life. Thank You for sustaining me and caring for me. Despite everything I have, my trust is in You. Amen.
We Trust in God!
