Freedom vs. Licentiousness

I speak to you this way, brothers and sisters, because you have been called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
(Galatians 5:13)

When we accept Christ, we are set free from the oppressive chains of sin. There is nothing greater than experiencing true freedom and recognizing the price that was paid for it: the blood of Jesus.
Our freedom is the result of God's deep love for us!

To remain free, we must constantly remember the cost of our salvation and stay alert to the schemes of the enemy. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan, who tried to get Him to misuse His freedom to disobey the Father.
Our freedom should draw us closer to God, not lead us away from Him—as happened to the devil.

The secret to staying free from sin is remaining obedient to God's Word.
Freedom doesn't mean "doing whatever I want," but rather understanding that there are places and choices that can rob us of our freedom. One of the enemy’s main traps is turning our freedom into license.

Licentiousness is the misuse of freedom.
When we go beyond the boundaries God set, we give room to the desires of the flesh. The result of this lack of self-control is falling into sin. If our actions are drawing us away from God, it’s a clear sign that we are losing our freedom and falling into the trap of licentiousness.

That’s why we must always keep God's Word as our spiritual “GPS” and use our freedom to serve and seek Him even more.

Be Free!
Use your freedom to seek God. Praise Him! Worship Him!
Our freedom came at a high cost. Read the Gospel and learn more about Jesus.
Use your freedom to help set others free. Share the Good News that delivers people from the power of sin.
Read God’s Word and stay alert to the lies of licentiousness.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, it is so good to be free to worship You! Thank You for everything You’ve done for me, for Your precious blood that rescued me. I want to remain free so I can praise You and share Your liberating Word with others.
In Your name, Jesus, amen.
